Kentmere Pan100 is a great starter-film at low speed for people trying 120 film photography for the first time. Fantastic value but giving great results in a variety of lighting situations, and forgiving in development. Similar to it's 400-speed sibling, Kentmere 100 is characterised by soft backing that allows for easy scanning as the negatives lie flat, and the resulting images will have medium contrast and fine grain. Its ISO 100 speed makes Kentmere Pan 100 suitable for a wide variety of subjects where good lighting conditions are available, both outdoor or indoor with controlled / studio lighting. Drawing many attributes from ILFORD stocks such as FP4, Kentmere Pan 100’s price point, coupled with its wide and forgiving exposure latitude, make it an ideal film for those new or returning to film photography as well as students and budget conscious photographers.

The soft backing allows for easy scanning, the images will have medium contrast and fine grain, and its mid-speed rating means it can be used in a variety of lighting situations. Rated ISO 400 with excellent push characteristics, Kentmere Pan 400 film is one of the most versatile and forgiving black & white films on the market. Ideal for ‘everyday’ use, and suitable for a wide variety of subjects and lighting conditions, the resulting negatives capture a broad range of tones and are perfect for both darkroom printing and scanning. 
Ilford XP2 super is a 400 speed chromogenic film. Designed for processing in C.41
The  Ilford emulsion, the slightly larger grain structure in the Ilford HP5 Plus 400 film will provide a wonderful vintage look to your photos. This 120 black and white film is also very forgiving of wide exposure range, so you will get good results in a variety of difficult light and contrast situations.

The improvements to contrast, grain, and sharpness, help to retain shadow and highlight detail and enable more flexibility in exposure latitude (although Phoenix II still benefits from accurate exposure). Scanning is also improved at default settings, and the final look will vary based on the scanner used. Phoenix II is your chance to try something completely new, experiment and get creative.
